Welcome to your personal, fully offline financial tracker. Because this app runs entirely inside your device's browser, your data is 100% private.
1. Setting Budgets
Go to the Budget tab to set your monthly targets.
You can set a budget for an entire Category (e.g., Food), or leave the Expense Name blank to act as a general bucket.
Budgets automatically roll forward to future months.
2. Portfolio & Savings Tracking
Creating Accounts & Initial Funds: In the Log Entry tab, select Type: Savings (Portfolio), and Action: Opening Account Balance. Type your account name in the Account Type box. This safely establishes your initial portfolio balance without altering your unassigned cash. You can log additional Opening Balances for the same account to increase its base value.
Saving Money (Deposits): In the Log Entry tab, select Action: Deposit. This registers as an expense (reducing your unassigned cash) and adds the money to the chosen Portfolio balance!
Spending Savings (Withdrawals): When you spend saved money, do it in two steps to avoid double-counting against your budget:
Log a Savings transaction with Action: Withdrawal. This removes the money from your portfolio and injects cash back into your Amount Unassigned.
Log your actual purchase as a standard Expense.
3. Viewing & Editing Data
The Summaries tab breaks down your performance with dynamic filters.
To Edit or Delete: In the Summaries tab, scroll down to the Transactions Log. Click on any gold Name to quickly open the edit window.
4. Backups & Data Safety (Crucial!)
This app stores data entirely in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browser history or cache, you will lose everything.
Go to the Utilities tab to Export (💾) your data regularly.
Your custom Portfolio accounts and Opening Balances are safely packed inside your main TX (Transactions) backup CSV! You only need to export TX and Budgets.
To restore your data on a new device or browser, simply click the Import (📥) buttons and select your saved CSV files.
